We are seeking an experienced, licensed CPA to support a public accounting firm's busy season by reviewing completed audit work papers and financial statements before issuance to clients. This role focuses exclusively on audit quality review and financial statement accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Review completed audit work papers for accuracy, completeness, sufficient supporting documentation, and compliance with firm policies and GAAP.
- Review draft financial statements, footnote disclosures, and related reports for accuracy, consistency, and proper presentation.
- Document review notes and communicate required corrections to the engagement team.
- Escalate independence concerns, audit quality issues, and other significant findings to firm leadership.
- Complete reviews within established deadlines during the busy season.
- Active CPA license or retired CPA with a valid license.
- 5+ years of public accounting audit experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit procedures, and internal controls.
- Previous experience reviewing audit work papers and/or performing audit quality reviews.
- Ability to work independently and meet time-sensitive review deadlines.
