Government Budget Analyst

3 days hybrid after first 90 days in office

Salary: $70K - $75k annually + benefits

Job Description:

We are seeking a Budget Analyst to support departmental budgeting, financial analysis, expenditure monitoring, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience managing or monitoring budgets, preferably in local government or the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor departmental budgets, expenses, and expenditures.
• Analyze budget variances and review financial reports.
• Support budget planning, financial analysis, and expenditure controls.
• Assist departments with budgeting systems and processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in budget analysis, accounting, or financial management.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Office.
• Experience with Lawson/Infor, Hyperion, Oracle Fusion, or similar systems is preferred.

Preferred: Local government, municipal finance, or public-sector budgeting experience.
