Fairview Range is hiring a Pharmacy Technician (on-call) for our Retail Pharmacy Team in Hibbing, MN. As a Pharmacy Technician you will assist the Site Manager/Pharmacist‑In‑Charge with tasks in the pharmacy. You will respond to and resolve insurance questions, process prescriptions, and address issues quickly and accurately. The Pharmacy Technician provides and promotes exceptional customer service, assists in preparing and dispensing medications and supplies, enters new and refill prescriptions in the computer system, works with physician offices to obtain refill requests, handles cash register transactions, receives patient prescriptions, unpacks and verifies stock‑to‑invoices and helps maintain the pharmacy in proper order.
ScheduleThis position is an on‑call position with hours as needed. Weekends: as needed.

As a Pharmacy Technician You Will Be Responsible For- Preparing sterile products.
- Receive prescriptions from patients and capture appropriate information per department policy. Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies as assigned, including counting, pouring, and labeling prescriptions.
- Verify insurance and resolve issues in a manner that will serve the customer's needs. Address third‑party prescription questions, which may include prior authorizations, vacation supplies, dose changes, price check and drug utilization review.
- Process new and refill prescriptions in the computer system quickly and accurately; including entering refill authorization requests and calculating sophisticated prescriptions such as compounds and injectables.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the computer system. Utilize the reporting system as vital. Process manual prescriptions including EZ‑DME, breast pumps and Worker's Compensation in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Complete special orders to meet customers' needs.
- Respond to internal and external customer questions and concerns in a professional and customer‑focused manner.
- Handle cash register transactions quickly and accurately.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the manager.
- Duties may include scheduling, maintaining pharmacy software and automation systems, bookkeeping activities, onsite training of staff and acting as a primary resource for problem solving.
- Perform under the direction of the Pharmacist to assist with identifying and resolving patient‑specific medication‑related issues in the patient's best interest.
- Provide training to new and current staff on areas of expertise including computer/software, insurance plans and problems that may occur, customer service, and other processes.
- Under the direction of the pharmacist, prepare drug therapy for patients in an accurate and timely fashion in accordance with all legal requirements, regulatory agencies, and Fairview Policy.
- Deliver medications, supplies and equipment to patient care areas and other clinical areas as appropriate.
- Assist in the maintenance of pharmacy to reflect a clean and well‑stocked condition daily.
- Ensure each product has a POS shelf label.
- Assist in inventory control functions.
- Record invoices in department inventory control/invoice records.
- Maintain stock of inventory in assigned areas.
- Receive, unpack, and check incoming stock against invoices and place into inventory.
- Process recalls and returns when vital.
- Help in the maintenance of pharmacy billing records.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Active technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.
- Graduate of an approved pharmacy technician program.
- 1 year retail and/or pharmacy experience.
$19.81 – $28.52 Hourly
