Job Overview

Fairview Range is looking for a compassionate Unit Nursing Assistant/Ward Clerk to join our Women’s Health and Birth Center (WHBC) in Hibbing, MN.

The Unit Assistant/Ward Clerk works under the direction of nursing personnel to provide patient care and function as a nursing assistant and health unit coordinator. Duties may include patient care, vitals, bathing, feeding, answering call lights, transporting, caring for the environment (stocking, cleaning, maintaining rooms) and using equipment, phones, clerical tasks and coordinating the flow of communication on the unit.

This position is part time, working 48‑60 hours per two weeks, 12‑hour day/night shifts and every third weekend.

Our WHBC offers private suites and the latest medical technology. All RNs are trained to labor & delivery, postpartum, and lactation support. The unit offers inpatient and outpatient lactation support through IBCLC, CLC and lactation‑trained staff.

• 10 beds, including 4 labor and delivery suites
• More than 300 baby deliveries annually
• IBCLC trained staff within the department
• Care team includes OB physicians, maternal fetal medicine physicians, family practice physicians, CRNAs, RNs, LPNs.

• Perform delegated nursing functions, including personal cares, ambulation, exercise, nutrition, specimen collection and vital signs.
• Perform newborn screens and document results in EMR.
• Perform receptionist and clerical responsibilities.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant course.
• Current BLS certification or attends BLS class within 3 months of employment and maintains certification; current BCS or acquires within three months and maintains certification.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of work performing similar job responsibilities.
• CNA certification.

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement. Pay may be influenced by factors such as FTE, skills, and experience. Bonus programs are honored if approved at the time of offer.
