Purpose:
The Lean Manufacturing Manager will lead, plan, and continuously improve Lean Manufacturing initiatives at the site, implementing foundational and transformational Lean competencies and driving improvements in quality, cost, delivery, employee morale, and safety. - Lean Strategy Development & Implementation:
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for a self-sustaining Lean program;
Track and analyze Lean metrics to measure effectiveness;
Establish and update standards for sustainability and continuous improvement. - Employee Training and Cultural Transformation:
Educate and coach employees on Lean principles, develop a Lean training strategy, and mentor Lean resources while fostering a Lean culture. - Lean Implementation:
Lead Value Stream Mapping, plan and lead Kaizen events and Gemba walks, and develop sustainable Lean programs (e.g., 5S, Visual Control, Load Smoothing, SMED); facilitate workplace flow and equipment changes in alignment with Lean principles. - Benchmarking and Best Practices:
Identify and deploy benchmarking opportunities across Corning locations to share and implement best practices. - Employee Development & Talent Pipeline:
Partner with Human Resources to develop strategies for employee growth and a Lean-focused talent pipeline. - Cost Reduction and Process Improvement:
Collaborate with engineering and production on cost reduction projects including Value Stream Mapping and zero-based staffing. - Budget Management:
Plan and achieve budget objectives for operational expenses and capital investments. - Safety and Compliance:
Ensure safe work practices and a safe environment; proactively address unsafe conditions and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 4 years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
- Six Sigma knowledge or Green Belt certification preferred; demonstrated application of Six Sigma tools.
- Proven leadership with Lean Manufacturing, analytics, and problem-solving.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing methods, systems, and production processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Project).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to present ideas and data to gain understanding and support.
- Process- and results-oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Leadership and mentoring; strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to drive cultural transformation and overcome resistance to change.
- Collaboration and partnership with cross-functional teams and other locations.

Compensation & BenefitsThe posted salary range is $ – $ annually for full-time status. Starting pay depends on factors such as location, experience, and education.
