We are seeking a motivated Engineering Associate with an E.I.T. certification and a passion for water and wastewater infrastructure to join our growing team in Hickory, NC. This role focuses on the design and development of water and wastewater treatment plant projects, providing a strong foundation for a long-term career in civil and environmental engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design work, layout, and modeling for municipal water/wastewater projects.
• Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Assist in permit applications, project reports, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs.
• Conduct basic engineering computations and CAD drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to support construction schedules and environmental impact studies.
• Attend client meetings and perform site visits to monitor construction progress and project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience (including internships, co-ops, or research), preferably in water/wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
• Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work on multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on involvement in the design or permitting of water or wastewater treatment plants.
• Familiarity with local and state permitting processes.
• Exposure to preparing construction documentation and environmental assessments.
