Schedule: Day Shift | On-call as needed

About Us:

The Greens at Hickory is a compassionate, resident-focused nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care center dedicated to excellence in clinical care. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our Director of Nursing and help lead our clinical team in delivering exceptional care across all units, including our Memory Care community.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) works closely with the Director of Nursing to plan, coordinate, and manage the nursing department. This role ensures compliance with all regulations and promotes high standards of resident care, staff development, and quality assurance throughout our skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in overseeing daily operations of the nursing department
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure optimal performance
  • Support the clinical needs of the Memory Care unit and promote person-centered dementia care
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Conduct audits, quality assurance rounds, and chart reviews
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for care planning and problem-solving
  • Step in as acting Director of Nursing when needed
Qualifications:
  • Current and unencumbered RN license in NC or compact state
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations (CMS, DOH, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure

Preferred:

  • BSN or higher degree
  • Infection control, staff development, or memory care experience is a plus
