- Assess patient status and develop, implement and evaluate the plan of care based on the patient’s assessed needs, age specific criteria and care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Considers factors and implements actions to ensure safety, effectiveness and cost containment in planning and delivering care to patients, families and visitors.
- Provides appropriate nursing interventions in stable and emergency patient situations.
- Exhibits flexibility in meeting departmental needs, supports charge and triage nurse in their role.
- Recognizes and reports all reportable patient circumstances.
- Actively participates in all departmental Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Participates and complies with all departmental focus patient care initiatives.
- Accurately documents all patient assessments, treatments and procedures in the medical record.
- Remains knowledgeable and proficient in the use of departmental equipment, supplies and policies.
- Actively participates and remains current in all departmental patient care processes to include Code STEMI Code STROKE and Core measures.
The Emergency Department at Frye serves approximately 40,000 patients per year with a wide array of illnesses. The ED is a fast paced setting that requires critical thinking and time management skills. Excellent customer service and teamwork is a must while providing patient centered care. The American Heart Association has awarded Frye the Mission Lifeline Gold Plus STEMI Receiving Facility and the Get With the Guidelines Gold Stroke Award.
Qualifications- Current North Carolina License, BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC required, TNCC preferred.
