• Performs accurate interqual reviews based on the physician’s order for level of care
• Notifies the PA in a timely manner if a patient does not meet admission criteria
• Enters observation hours on the Observation Log in a timely manner
• Avoidable days are documented appropriately in e/care
• Holds PCC meetings, documents team note in chart and keeps a weekly team attendance sheet
• Places a note re: the patient’s discharge plan in the multidisciplinary section at least every 3 days
• Communicates as requested to insurance companies re: patients clinical status
• Participates in the weekly Complex Case Review Meeting
• Assist SW or D/C Planner with distributing the discharge copy of the MCL, completing admission assessments and working with patients and families to plan a safe and timely discharge.
• Notify the physician to facilitate discharge when patient does not meet admission or continued stay criteria

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
• Two years hospital based clinical experience. Experience in Case Management, Utilization Review and/or Discharge planning, knowledge of Interqual and other payor criteria preferred.
• Must have excellent communication skills, demonstrate self-direction, and have the ability to work well in a team environment.
