American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring Cerner experience and at least 2 years of medical surgical nursing experience.
Details- 355-bed acute care hospital with Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and Level 3 NICU
- Medical Surgical unit located on 4 North with 18 beds
- Adult/geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end of life/hospice care, falls, weakness, and sepsis
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Uses Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Day shift schedule 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirements
- Floating as needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units taking med surg level patients
- Active NC or compact RN license
- Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- AHA certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- IV competency required
- Charge experience preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg floor requiring strong patient advocacy and teamwork
- Must be a strong team player able to keep pace on a fast-moving unit
- Scrubs of any color accepted
- Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local rate available for those within that radius
- Travelers cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Must start orientation on one of the designated 2026 start dates:
November 9, November 16, or December 7 - Cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
