The Emergency Department at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital is part of Mission Health and provides 24/7 comprehensive critical care to the communities of Mitchell, Yancey, and Avery counties. As a designated Critical Access Hospital featuring 25 patient beds, our facility serves as a vital clinical anchor for the region, delivering rapid medical evaluation, stabilizing interventions, and life‑saving care for acute injuries and sudden illnesses.

Our emergency room offers full‑scale diagnostic and treatment capabilities, utilizing an advanced on‑site laboratory, multi‑modality medical imaging, and dedicated critical care rooms. When severe medical crises require a higher tier of intervention, our department features direct, seamless access to the Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA) helicopter system, ensuring 24/7 rapid critical air transport straight to Mission Hospital’s Level II Trauma Center in Asheville.

Provides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well‑being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Implements medically prescribed interventions.

What qualifications you will need:

• Education:
  
  Associate's Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• License:
  Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON. Registered Nurse must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
