Heavy Equipment Operator at Caton Construction Group
Caton Construction Group, one of the Caton, has corporate offices in Troy, VA, and Cary, NC. The company is expanding and is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators for a bridge/roadway project in Catawba County, North Carolina (Hickory). Preferred candidates are qualified excavator and dozer operators.
Responsibilities- Work with and assist in moving and grading dirt, digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and related tasks using bulldozers, backhoes, road graders, or front‑end loaders.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to the supervisor.
- Complete all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years of experience operating medium and heavy equipment.
- Preferred:
Valid CDL license.
This is a full‑time position. Normal days and hours are Monday – Friday, – 3:30 p.m., with time provided for lunch. Overtime and weekend work are expected. Hours may vary and out‑of‑town travel may require overnight stays.
Travel & DrivingPrimarily local travel during the business day, with some out‑of‑area and overnight travel possible. A valid driver’s license is required.
