Assistant Recreation Programmer; Part-Time

Overview

Job opportunity for individuals who are doers and makers working in a community-focused recreation setting.

• Assists with the daily operations of an assigned recreation center to include programming, special events, supervising facilities and daily cleaning/maintenance of the facility.
• Assists with the daily operations of the recreation department and facilities.
• Supervising facility.
• Daily cleaning/maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Experience working in a recreation center or setting.
• Experience working with diverse populations.

• Minimum age of 16.
• Must possess a valid Class C driver's license from NC.
• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• The preferred applicant will have an Associate’s Degree in Recreation or a related field.
• Must be available to work a varied schedule throughout the week with primary duty hours being in the afternoons and evenings.

  Applicants must meet the City criteria for an acceptable driving record.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, climb ladders and balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear. The employee may occasionally be required to sit.

The employee must frequently lift, push, pull and/or move more than 50 pounds. An employee in this position will have successfully passed a Functional Prework Screen administered by a professional and impartial third party specialist.

The work is performed in an office and at recreational facilities.
