AV Field Engineer
AV Pros NY is a leading provider of integrated audiovisual solutions for commercial, educational, and corporate environments. We specialize in the deployment of cutting‑edge technology and highly integrated AV systems. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented AV Field Engineer to commission, configure, and optimize advanced audiovisual systems for commercial clients. This role focuses heavily on system commissioning, troubleshooting, and AV network configuration.

Compensation$90,000 to $140,000
Key Responsibilities- Commission AV systems onsite by optimizing equipment settings, ensuring performance meets scope/drawings, completing quality checklists, and submitting accurate redlines to PM and Design Engineering.
- Pre‑commission systems in‑house
, preparing equipment and configurations before field deployment. - Load and test programming
, debug control systems, and work directly with remote programmers. - Provide regular status updates to project stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot AV and network issues by tracing signal flow and working with internal/external teams to resolve problems.
- Configure AV networks and coordinate with client IT for seamless integration.
- Create/modify DSP files (Biamp, QSC, BSS) with emphasis on AEC optimization and coordination with control programmers.
- Document and archive programming/configuration files with proper labeling for future service efficiency.
- Contribute lessons learned to improve designs, engineering standards, and installation methods.
- Maintain and expand technical certifications and product knowledge.
- 3–4+ years of AV commissioning or installation experience.
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, DSPs, control systems, and networked AV.
- Experience with MTR/Zoom Rooms (required).
- DSP certification from Biamp, QSC, or BSS (required).
- Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot complex signal paths.
- OSHA 30 and required SST certifications.
- Ability to lift 40–70 lbs and work on ladders or in tight spaces.
