Responsibilities- Lead the fitness sales and revenue growth of the program. The Fitness Supervisor will report to the General Manager (GM) and have a dotted line to the District Manager (DM). The GM manages the performance of trainers and group exercise instructors. The Fitness Supervisor is the business leader of the Personal Training (PT) department, creating and supporting team culture to drive operational excellence and deliver a superior member experience.
The role is to lead the program by promoting and selling fitness products and services, and to coach, train, and mentor Personal Trainers to meet and exceed department/company objectives. Other duties not listed here may be assigned as necessary to ensure the proper operations of the department. - Business leadership:
Manage trainers including monthly evaluations, monthly projections, PT calendar management, lead and client communication, and oversight of trainers delivering complimentary services. Conduct timely and relevant business management meetings to support trainer development. Hold the team accountable for business deliverables by setting targets and providing feedback and support for progress. Collaborate with DM/GM/AGM for PT sales driving and complementary clinics. Assist with day-to-day operations to support business objectives and member/guest needs. - Operational management:
Lead the operational and sales components during the new hire process of new trainers in partnership with the GM/AGM. Provide PT business and sales coaching. Partner with GM to capture trainer availability, book sessions, and ensure the team can meet member needs. Generate PT sales leads, schedule lead generation activities, and support trainer development to build a successful business. Set goals to support club events and ensure proper follow-up post-event.
Produce and host monthly PT department meetings with the GM. Implement and execute all operational SOPs including administrative duties related to client outreach and staff accountability. Support trainers through financial planning as it relates to the compensation plan. - KPI management:
Achieve monthly and annual department financial goals by planning weekly activities aligned with department objectives (net gain, cancellations, active client penetration, new sales, orientation bookings and conversions). Proactively address trends in fitness assessment conversions, client attrition, and client training frequency. Partner with the GM on performance management metrics for trainers. Regularly audit and manage fitness revenue and expenses to ensure compliance and profitability. - Client relationship management:
Communicate with potential leads and clients, provide client coverage across fitness offerings, manage all client pipelines (including new members), outline pipeline responsibilities with the GM/AGM, and coordinate new member assessments (e.g., My Club Intro and InBody assessments where offered). Host demo clinics during scheduled shifts to promote engagement, build relationships, drive referrals, and increase PT/Team Training revenue. - Leader of team culture:
Collaborate with all departments to achieve interdepartmental synergy, manage staffing targets, mentor trainers to uphold brand standards, ensure friendliness and service standards in member interactions, and identify talent to advance trainer careers.
