About the RoleBased at New Mills Nursery School, High Peak, SK224AQ
, you will be working 12.5 hours a week, Monday‑Friday 7am‑8am & 4pm‑5.30pm. You will play a key role in providing high‑quality caretaking services to oversee maintenance and cleanliness.
- Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance and minor repairs.
- Ensure heating, lighting, and alarm systems are working properly.
- Carry out and record basic checks and maintain Health and Safety records.
- Monitor site stocks and undertake cleaning duties.
- Demonstrate Health and Safety awareness and attend training courses, including Health and Safety (all training will be provided).
- Ad‑hoc duties may require cover when council meetings & events lead into the evening late, including setting up rooms – tables & chairs, tea & coffee refreshment.
- Clean as deep cleans are required during office closed hours.
- Operate cleaning machines such as carpet cleaners, hard floor cleaners, and high‑reached dusting equipment.
- PAT testing experience would also be desirable in this role, as undertaken throughout the whole building.
- Basic maintenance knowledge helpful for this role (painting, repairs, putting up notice boards, etc.).
- Great customer service and communication skills and experience in a similar setting.
