Position: Lubrication Technician (Permanent)

We are currently looking for a Lubrication Technician to join our fantastic team located at Tarmac Tunstead Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire. As well as Buxton this role is easily accessible from Derby, Macclesfield, Stockport, Glossop, Chesterfield, Leek, Ashbourne, Bakewell, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, as Lubrication Technician you will play a key role in driving improved reliability and efficient plant operation by effectively monitoring plant and performance conditions to ensure any deterioration is identified and validated prior to failure at our Stone Quarry. You will collate, record and analyse specific engineering and process measures and conditions, prepare reports and generate work orders to prevent unplanned premature plant failures of our low and high speed drives and bearings.

The Lubrication Technician will be responsible for:

Ensuring planned maintenance schedules, condition reviews and task frequencies are prioritised
Mechanical inspections supporting the continued development of Stone plant criticality and ensuring any measurement set points or defects identified are inputted into CMMS
Continuous development of preventative maintenance schedules, FMEA’s and condition monitoring techniques to deliver the required level of plant reliability
Carrying out minor repairs within own capability and competence to support the continuous performance and improvement of all aspects of equipment lubrication and the development and implementation of new technologies, equipment and methods to ensure that industry best practice is maintained
Identifying any abnormal plant condition, monitoring until the necessary intervention is required and validating any reported defects by creating required work orders to progress through to the maintenance planning function
Communicating effectively with maintenance, process and production teams to ensure all stakeholders are aware of plant and equipment running and performance conditions
Developing required service level agreements and evaluating condition reports, prioritising actions and creating work orders to rectify defects
Monitoring trend condition set points and plant condition, predicting maintenance activities and providing reports for budget planning to enable all repairs to be carried out in a planned and cost effective manner
Supporting and actively contributing to plant failure and RCA investigations
This role requires you to be both site and office based helping drive the maintenance strategy

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Lubrication Technician will demonstrate proven experience working within a mining, quarrying, Stone Processing, heavy industrial industry, or a similar environment with a strong engineering background.

Suitable candidates for the role of Lubrication Technician will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work with minimal supervision. You should also demonstrate:

Strong technical knowledge of industrial lubrication systems
Ability to fault find and guide/complete repairs on lubrication systems

Experience with COSHH controls and working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental standards
Proven fault finding and preventative maintenance skills – able to understand, collect, organise and analyse data to understand cause and effects relationship
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
Strong organisational and planning skills
Good, clear and concise report writing skills
A proactive and safety-conscious mindset
