OverviewThe Wake Forest Health Network Neurosurgery - High Point practice is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic, community-based neurosurgery team in High Point, North Carolina. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced neurosurgeons, providing care to patients with a wide range of neurological conditions, including spine disorders, brain injuries, and complex neurosurgical cases.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work collaboratively in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- As a valued member of our healthcare team, the PA will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in medical/surgical settings.
- Use medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans.
- Collaborate with the medical team for effective team-based care.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
- Perform procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
- Participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
- Precept students and/or medical learners when appropriate.
- Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
- Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program;
Master's Degree preferred - Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA
- Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) required to start
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration required to start
