$70,000.00/yr – $80,000.00/yr

• $70,000–$80,000 base salary depending on experience

• Design and develop structures, subassemblies, and mechanical components of truck and trailer bodies or ambulances using CAD software (Solid Edge, Solid Works or AutoCAD Inventor preferred).
• Create detailed 3D models of sheet metal parts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings with appropriate tolerances and material specifications.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses (structural, load, and performance) to validate designs.
• Support production through technical drawings, BOMs, process documentation, and engineering change management.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality departments to ensure design intent is maintained through production.
• Review and improve existing designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and durability.
• Research materials, components, and manufacturing methods for potential implementation in future designs.
• Participate in prototype builds and testing to evaluate design performance and validate design changes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and customer standards.
• Provide technical support for field issues and product improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 3-5 years of prior work experience within a manufacturing setting outside of college or internships
• Software experience required:
  Solid Edge, Solid Works
• MS Office product knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Epicor ERP
• Able to responsibly handle confidential information

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication methods, and structural analysis
• Knowledge of materials (steel, aluminum, composites) and their applications in vehicle manufacturing
• Understanding of structural adhesives and their uses
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, forming, and assembly
• Experience with Epicor ERP systems a plus

Manufacturing work environment that may at times provide exposure to weather, noise intensity level, and proximity to moving mechanical parts.

• Routine sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers to type, turn handles, feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, reach, and stretch
• Occasional movement around the office and entry into manufacturing areas
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Occasional lifting or moving up to 30 lbs
