Transportation Coordinator

Overview

• Assist residents in an Assisted Living Community with making physician and other appointments as needed and provide transportation to and from appointments and other outings as needed.
• Provide transportation to and from scheduled appointments, outings, and other places as needed.
• Keep vehicles clean at all times and ensure regular vehicle maintenance (annual inspections, regular oil changes).
• Maintain up-to-date emergency information in vehicles.
• Provide transportation for pickups from hospital stays and to the hospital as needed.
• Chart required information in care notes after transporting to appointments; relay information to RCC or SIC after physician visits; file notes in medical charts as needed.
• Assist office manager and Administrator as needed.
• Be on-call (may include nights, weekends, and holidays) and report accidents or incidents immediately to the Administrator or management.
• Help maintain the safety, dignity, and physical security of residents; work cooperatively with staff and relate favorably to residents and families.
• Follow all accident, fire safety, and emergency procedures of the home; adhere to all company policies and procedures; report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation immediately.
• Comply with all regulations as required by State and Federal agencies, including HIPAA.
• Understand and support Residents’ Bill of Rights and assist residents in exercising these rights.
• Perform other duties as required by circumstance.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a valid NC Driver's License and maintain it during employment
• Must be able to read, write, understand, and follow directions; strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to Lift, Push, & Pull a minimum of 50 pounds; bend, stoop, squat, and reach overhead as needed
• Must obtain a 15-hour Medication Aide Certificate within 30 days of hire; complete Medication Aide Check-off within 30 days; obtain Medication Aide Certification within 60 days of Check-off
• Must have or obtain a two-step tuberculin skin test (first step prior to hire; second test within two weeks of first test)
• Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program
• Must have a clear SBI and DMV record and maintain them during employment
• Must have had at least 8 years of driving experience (required by the company 0liability insurance carrier)
