Job Summary:Responsible for ensuring that the department has everything it needs to operate efficiently and effectively. Ensures that instruments and supplies are readily available for processing through purchasing and coordinating with the vendor for loaners and trials. Oversees instrument repairs, instrument transfers between the organization's multiple facilities, and instrument tracking system.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Two years' experience in Sterile Processing required.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or other sterile processing certification required.
Certification as a Surgical Instrument Specialist required within one year of hire.
Essential Functions:Qualifications:
- Proficient communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Ability to order instruments via People Soft
- Clean, well-lit, comfortable environment.
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
- Subject to many interruptions.
- Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
- Moderate noise level.
- Possible exposure to cleaning agents.
- Subject to hazards of flammable, explosive gases.
- May be subject to burns.
- Exposure to hazards of steam and heat.
