Assistant Project Manager

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Project Manager is to advise and assist the Project Manager on a variety of project-related matters with a focus on coordination to remove barriers on behalf of the Construction field teams. This role prepares contingency plans and makes recommendations accordingly. It provides technical support to field team members as needed within the scope of the assignment.

It provides oversight to the quality assurance activities related to the project, reports and follows up on quality-related problems. It coordinates within Environmental Air Systems and with other prime contractors to ensure the work is planned and executed in such a way that delays are minimized and rework is eliminated.

• Coordinate shop drawings; assist in purchasing equipment and materials, issuing POs, and tracking orders
• Manage submittals; maintain paper and electronic contract drawings, documents and coordination drawings
• Attend job-related meetings as required
• Update weekly manpower schedules for the project
• Update weekly manpower reports
• Update projection vs. actual bar charts on a weekly basis
• Maintain all charts and schedules for tracking current and projected field manpower

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or 5 years of equivalent experience in HVAC site work assisting in all or part of project management duties

• Proficient in Word, Excel, and scheduling software such as Primavera
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Knowledge of OSHA and other construction-related rules and regulations; familiarity with Environmental Air Systems safety rules and regulations
