Material Handler Superintendent

**** Key Responsibilities
***** Material Movement & Coordination  + Oversee daily material handling operations, including forklift and overhead crane usage.  + Ensure timely delivery of materials to production areas to prevent delays.  + Monitor equipment availability and coordinate resources across shifts and departments.
* Team Leadership & Supervision  + Direct, coach, and evaluate the material handling team.  + Manage scheduling, staffing, and workload assignments to ensure full coverage.  + Conduct training on equipment operation, safety procedures, and standard work practices.
* Communication & Collaboration  + Serve as the primary point of contact between material handling and other production supervisors.  + Maintain proactive communication to anticipate and resolve material flow issues.  + Provide regular updates on material movement status and challenges.
* Safety & Compliance  + Enforce safe operating procedures for forklifts, cranes, and all handling equipment.  + Monitor team adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.  + Lead team meeting around safety, participate in incident investigations, and administer corrective actions as required.
* Operational Excellence  + Identify opportunities to improve material flow efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.  + Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
**** Qualifications
* **** Proven experience in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing operations (supervisory experience strongly preferred).
* Strong knowledge of forklift and overhead crane operation and safety standards.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* OSHA certification(s) and/or forklift/crane operator certification a plus.

Material Handling Team (forklift operators, crane operators, general laborers)

* Education:

***** Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
* Trade School completion (preferred).
**** Job Requirements/Special Skills**:
*** Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs.
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push and pull throughout the shift.
