- Emergency Room each year approximately 60,000 residents from the High Point, Winston-Salem, Kernersville and Greensboro areas choose AHWFB High Point Medical Center to care for them in all types of emergencies.
- The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at High Point Medical Center is a designated area within the hospital that allow our providers to monitor and evaluate the medical conditions of patients. CDU designed for patients who do not meet criteria for inpatient admission but are not well enough to go home and require further observation. This unit provides ongoing effort to improve patient experience by centralizing care for patients.
While in the CDU, patients will be regularly assessed by a multidisciplinary care team of physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinical professionals. After providing all necessary diagnostic tests, medications, and therapies, providers will usually be able to make a decision about admitting the patient to the hospital or discharging them.
