RN Job Details
  • Location: High Point, NC 27262 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
  • Unit: 36-bed Neuro-Telemetry Progressive Care Unit (IMC Stroke Unit)
  • Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (10/13/2025 – 1/10/2026)
  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours/week
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470 - $1570 per week
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Coverage: Travelers work 75% of holidays during assignment
  • Scrub Color: Royal Blue

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or intermediate care nursing experience (travel RN experience required)
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (current)
  • Strong neuro assessment and escalation skills
  • Advanced telemetry skills, including rhythm analysis and monitoring
  • Experience administering and titrating hemodynamic drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Neo, Nitro, Amio)
  • Proficiency with EMR systems (Encompass/EPIC preferred)
  • First-time travel nurses are not eligible for this position
PCU RN Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with stroke, heart failure, TIA, sepsis, syncope, AKI, chest pain, and other intermediate diagnoses
  • Monitor, interpret, and escalate telemetry rhythm changes as needed
  • Administer and titrate hemodynamic drips per hospital protocols
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
  • Utilize advanced clinical equipment such as Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips MX-40 monitors
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education to maintain best practices
  • Float to sister units (CTU) as required, maintaining consistent patient ratios
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies and procedures
