Retail Sales Associate

Overview

Retail Sales Associate - 0475 ry-level, full-time sales associate role in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the store team to provide customer service on both lending and retail transactions. The role greets and engages customers, processes sales, loans, and other transactions, and assists with customer inquiries and problem resolution. The associates work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates to join our team. The successful candidate earns an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. The exact pay and commission details depend on location and experience.

• Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items per company procedures.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Explain the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers; collaborate to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete required training and perform other related duties as assigned.

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified (where applicable).
• Must be able to work at exterior locations or retrieve products stored in exterior areas as needed.
• Minimum age 18 years;
  High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to serve customers, be team-oriented, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math proficiency and cash-handling experience is preferred.
• Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays; ability to work at multiple locations as needed.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems.

• Vacation: 1 week after 6 months; 2 weeks after 1 year; 2 weeks on each anniversary thereafter; 120 hours after 5 years (adjusted for state/local requirements).
• Sick/Personal time: 8 hours after 6 months, 16 hours annually thereafter (years 2–5); 24 hours after 5 years.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit from personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process.
