About the Role:

The Part-Time Import-Export Logistics Specialist at our Corporate NC location plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating the flow of goods across international borders within the retail trade sector. This entry-level position focuses on ensuring compliance with import and export regulations, facilitating timely shipments, and maintaining accurate documentation to support seamless supply chain operations. The specialist will collaborate closely with vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to resolve logistical challenges and optimize transportation processes.

By monitoring shipment statuses and addressing any delays or discrepancies, the role contributes directly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Ultimately, this position serves as a foundational step for developing expertise in global logistics and supply chain management within a dynamic retail environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of import-export regulations and international shipping procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or coursework in supply chain management, logistics, or international business.
• Experience with logistics software or transportation management systems (TMS).
• Familiarity with customs clearance processes and documentation.
• Bilingual abilities or proficiency in a second language relevant to international trade.
• Prior internship or work experience in a logistics or supply chain environment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and track import and export shipments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate shipping documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
• Communicate effectively with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments to resolve shipment issues and facilitate smooth logistics operations.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse teams to align inbound and outbound shipments.
• Support the continuous improvement of logistics processes by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting practical solutions.
