Senior Accountant – Full Time, Permanent – High Wycombe

Key responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact and building strong working relationships.
  • Preparing statutory and management accounts for a range of businesses.
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns.
  • Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries and providing practical financial guidance.
  • Assisting with VAT returns and other compliance requirements.
  • Reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by junior members of the team, where appropriate.
  • Liaising directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Supporting Partners and senior colleagues with more complex accounting and tax matters.
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and value to clients.
  • Assisting with the development and mentoring of more junior members of the team.
Qualifications
  • Several years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong experience in accounts preparation, including statutory accounts.
  • Good knowledge of corporation and personal taxation.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach.
  • A recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA or ACCA, or be qualified by relevant experience.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books or similar would be advantageous.
