A Semi Senior Accountant position is available in High Wycombe, offered as a full-time, permanent contract with a salary between £32,000 and £40,000 per annum. Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established accounting firm based in the High Wycombe area, which is looking to recruit an experienced Semi-Senior Accountant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice accountant looking to develop their experience and progress their career within a supportive accountancy environment.
The role will offer exposure to a varied portfolio of clients and a broad range of accounting and tax work.
Working closely with the wider team, you will support the delivery of accounting and compliance services to a diverse client base, while developing your technical knowledge and client-facing skills.
Your key responsibilities as a Semi-Senior Accountant will include:- Preparing statutory and management accounts for a range of clients.
- Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax and personal tax returns.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and assisting with general bookkeeping duties.
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting queries.
- Supporting more senior members of the team with client accounts and tax work.
- Assisting with accounts and tax assignments from initial preparation through to completion.
- Developing strong relationships with clients and providing a professional and responsive service.
- Working to ensure all client work is completed accurately and within relevant deadlines.
- Supporting the wider team with ad hoc accounting tasks and client requirements.
- 2 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts for a variety of clients.
- Some experience with corporation tax, personal tax and VAT.
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
- A proactive attitude and genuine desire to develop a career within accountancy practice.
- Ideally, be AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or currently studying towards a relevant qualification.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books or similar would be advantageous.
You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
