Accounts Senior - Part time

NXTGEN is pleased to be working with a well established accountancy practice who are looking to add an experienced Accounts professional to their team. This is a varied role where you will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, take responsibility for their day to day accounting needs and provide practical advice across a range of areas.

You will have plenty of client contact and the freedom to really get to know your clients and their businesses, rather than simply working through a checklist of tasks. Alongside your own client portfolio, you will also have the opportunity to support more junior members of the team and continue developing your technical knowledge. As an Accounts professional, your responsibilities will include:
Managing a varied portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact Preparing year end accounts for a range of business types Preparing and reviewing management accounts and financial information Preparing VAT returns and providing support with VAT queries Dealing with CIS requirements and related queries Liaising directly with clients and providing practical accounting advice Developing strong client relationships and gaining a genuine understanding of their businesses Identifying areas where you can provide additional support and value to clients Supporting more junior members of the team with their work and development Taking ownership of your workload and ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines Getting involved in wider advisory work and supporting clients with their ongoing accounting needs The ideal Accounts professional will have :
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice AAT, ACA, ACCA qualification or equivalent experience Strong accounts preparation experience, including management accounts Good knowledge of VAT and CIS Confidence dealing directly with clients and handling accounting queries The ability to work independently and take ownership of a varied workload A friendly and approachable manner, with a genuine interest in building strong client relationships An interest in supporting and developing more junior members of the team This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety that comes with working in practice and wants to have a genuine relationship with their clients.
