We are looking to recruit to the admin team within the Pre-operative Assessment Department. The post is a dual role with both receptionist and booking duties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous reception experience or from a wider administrative background who thrives working in a busy, patient centred environment.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring patients are booked in on arrival and appropriately discharged.

Person specification Education, qualifications and training
  • Good basic education
  • GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths
  • IT/Computer skills to RSA 1 or equivalents with recent work experience in this field
Experience
  • Experience of taking and responding to telephone enquiries from customers and within own organisation, and prioritising as necessary
  • Recent experience of working within a customer care environment
  • Experience of working in a high demand, team based environment
  • Experience of working in an administrative setting within the NHS
Skills, abilities and knowledge
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills to enable liaison with MDT, patients and carers
  • Ability to work in busy reception within a clinical department with conflicting priorities
  • Excellent keyboard skills to ensure all Outpatient activity is recorded onto the bespoke database in accordance with the current GDPR and Data protection legislation
  • Aware of confidentiality code of practice in relation to patients and staff
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft products especially Word, Excel and Teams
  • Good working knowledge of Trust clinical systems especially Careflow
Special circumstances
  • Ability to travel to other sites
