Support Worker - Residential Care (Young People 11-16)
About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our residential care team, supporting young people aged 11-16. The role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where young people can develop confidence, life skills, and emotional resilience.
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily needs of young people, building positive relationships, and promoting their well being, independence, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to young people in a residential setting
Build trusting, positive relationships and act as a consistent role model
Support young people with daily routines, including education, activities, meals, and personal care (where appropriate)
Promote positive behaviour and follow agreed behaviour support plans
Maintain a safe and supportive environment at all times
Accurately record information and contribute to care plans, reports, and reviews
Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, families, and external professionals
Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures
About You
Passionate about supporting children and young people
Patient, resilient, and emotionally mature
Able to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential)
A genuine interest in residential childcare
Willingness to complete required training
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
