SEN tutor SEMH

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, tailored lessons in English and Maths (based on the child's level and needs).
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to support the child's learning, ensuring sessions are engaging and appropriate for their emotional and academic needs.
• Develop and implement personalised learning plans that support the child's progress.
• Provide regular feedback to the child's parents/carers regarding progress and areas for development.
• Build a trusting, positive relationship with the child, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.

• Experience working with children with SEMH needs and/or Special Educational Needs

• A passion for supporting children to reach their full potential.
• Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths (GCSE level or higher).
• Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to the child's individual needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both with the child and parents/carers.
• DBS checked (or willing to obtain one).

• Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) or relevant tutoring experience.
• Familiarity with SEN teaching strategies or qualifications in SEN (e.g., SENCo, Autism Awareness, etc.).
• Experience working with children with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or other complex needs.
