About usChiltern Wood School is a Special School currently supporting over 200 students ranging from ages 4 to 19 years, located across three sites in Cressex, Downley and Studley Green. We cater for a broad selection of needs including language and communication needs, complex autism spectrum conditions, profound physical and cognitive disabilities and sensory processing needs.
We offer the opportunity to become part of a team of caring professionals, contributing purposefully to meeting the special educational needs of children in the High Wycombe area. You will be well supported by welcoming and knowledgeable staff within a well‑run, hard‑working school which holds as its core value the wellbeing of its pupils, parents and staff.

About youPrevious experience is not essential as full training will be provided, however experience of a play‑based approach would be beneficial.
Training opportunities may include:
- Using a communication book/device
- Low arousal approach
- Behaviour and de‑escalation
- Occupational therapy basics including sensory regulation
- Child protection
- Online safety and GDPR
- Administering medication
- Introduction to dysphagia

The successful candidate will be subject to full vetting checks, including a disclosure of criminal records at an enhanced level, online searches and satisfactory references.
