Salary: £33,951 – £37,694 per annum (dependent on qualification level).

37 hours per week. Employment:
Full time, Permanent.
Support teaching, learning and assessment in civil engineering and related disciplines. Deliver tutorial classes, provide personal tutorial support, assess coursework and examinations, and contribute to the Department's teaching strategy.
Responsibilities- Teach and support students, adopting a learner‑centred approach and contributing to a first‑class student experience.
- Contribute to the teaching team and wider college activities.
- Implement an inclusive approach, building an inclusive university community.
- Act as the main point of contact for tutorial class teaching for one or more courses.
- Design and prepare teaching materials and deliver blended learning when appropriate.
- Deliver personal tutoring, provide guidance on academic work and examination preparation.
- Mark and provide feedback on assignments, essays and exams.
- Manage late submissions and support the tutorial process.
- Contribute to student experience through excellent customer service and participation in Open Days and marketing activities.
- Deliver pastoral care and supervision of students.
- Engage in CPD and attend relevant conferences.
- Maintain support for partnership initiatives and protect the university’s reputation.
- Comply with data protection, health and safety, UKVI, and Equality and Diversity requirements.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Dean or Associate Dean.
- First degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Working towards a relevant master’s degree (preferred).
- Commitment to obtaining a teaching qualification (preferred).
- Knowledge of structural analysis, design, soil mechanics, foundation engineering, surveying, and transportation systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills.
- Flexible and able to respond to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in off‑site locations and to contribute to Open Days (including Saturdays).
