About the RoleYouth Enquiry Service (YES) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Outreach and Support Officer to join our team.
This is a frontline role supporting young people through outreach work, one-to-one support, group sessions, workshops, and youth engagement activities. You will help young people access information, guidance, and support around mental wellbeing, sexual health, relationships, confidence, education, employment, and other issues affecting young people.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver outreach in schools, youth clubs, sports clubs, and community settings.
- Provide one-to-one support and guidance to young people.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and group sessions.
- Build positive relationships with young people and promote youth voice.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation.
- Work within safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
- Support awareness-raising activities and represent YES within the community.
- Experience working with young people.
- Experience delivering workshops, educational sessions, or group work.
- Understanding of issues affecting young people, including mental health, sexual health, and wellbeing.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Qualification (or working towards) in Youth Work, Education, Social Care, Community Development, or a related field.
- Knowledge of local support services and referral pathways.
- Experience supporting LGBTQ+ young people or other marginalised groups.
- Youth-centred and empowerment-focused practice.
- Professional integrity and accountability.
- Collaborative and respectful working.
- Commitment to inclusive support for all young people.
