ASAP/September Start | Long-term Opportunity
Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the HP13 area to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school environment and make a real difference in supporting pupils’ learning and development.
This role would suit a patient, caring, and proactive individual who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and thrive in the classroom.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play a key role in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting pupils’ learning in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups
Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation of resources
Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN)
Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress to the class teacher
Working collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external professionals
Requirements
Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable)
A patient, supportive, and positive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
Ability to work full-time in Maidenhead from September
Desirable:
Experience supporting pupils with SEN
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
