Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the High Wycombe area to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher
. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 2 teacher to join a nurturing environment and support pupils as they transition into Upper Key Stage 2.

This role would suit a passionate and adaptable teacher with a strong understanding of the Year 5 curriculum
, who is committed to delivering engaging lessons and preparing pupils for the challenges of Year 6 and beyond.

As a Year 5 Teacher
, you will play a key role in developing pupils’ academic knowledge, confidence, and independence as they move through Upper Key Stage 2, helping to prepare them for end-of-year expectations and the transition to Year 6.

• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Upper Key Stage 2 national curriculum
• Supporting pupils’ progress in core subjects (reading, writing, and maths), with increasing focus on depth and mastery
• Preparing pupils for the expectations of Year 6, including building exam techniques and resilience
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and targeted interventions
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Providing tailored support for pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN
• Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Desirable
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
• Strong understanding of the Upper KS2 curriculum (Year 5 desirable)
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A creative, engaging, and structured teaching style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work full-time in the Hazlemere (HP15) area from September

• Experience teaching Year 5
• Strong understanding of progression through Upper Key Stage 2
• Preparation for SATs and Year 6 transition
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (SEN)
• Understanding of assessment and pupil progress tracking
