Job SummaryWycombe Swan’s Creative Learning department is looking for a freelance Support Drama Facilitator to run the Wycombe Swan’s Youth Theatre in High Wycombe.
Job DescriptionThe Youth Theatre is a popular term‑time programme, focussing on performance and the development of drama and other creative skills whilst helping participants to achieve goals, improve communication skills, boost confidence and self‑esteem, and improve resilience.
We are keen to find a candidate who embodies the values of inclusivity, creation of supportive environments, and the promotion of upskilling, wellbeing, and access to the arts.

About the Role- Support in delivery of high‑quality participatory drama workshops
- Facilitate sessions with young people, supporting participants to devise and perform their own work
- Support young people to develop and apply their creative skills
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Drama Facilitator to develop facilitation skills
- Ensure participants are supported to work towards their goals
- Evaluate each term's activities and implement actions in future work
- Develop positive relationships with participants and their parents/guardians
The Youth Theatre runs on Mondays during term time and is split into two groups:
- Juniors – age 7 to Year 7 (5.30pm‑7pm)
- Seniors – Year 8 to age 18 (7pm‑9pm)
Hours
:
You will need to be available on Monday evenings during the school term time (5.30pm‑9pm).
Fee
:
You will only be paid for the hours that you work. The rate is £15‑£17 per hour, depending on experience.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience of taking part in drama workshops and/or theatre projects
- Experience working with young people
- Can work collaboratively with young people and support young people with some additional needs
- Demonstrative experience working as part of a team
- Paid and/or unpaid experience running youth arts workshops
