A well-established SEN School in High Wycombe is seeking an experienced and committed Head of School to join its leadership team. This Head of School position offers the opportunity to provide strategic and operational leadership across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and pupil outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.
The successful candidate will work to implement the school's vision and improvement priorities. The Head of School in High Wycombe will lead and develop staff, monitor pupil progress, promote an inclusive school culture and ensure that all pupils receive the support and opportunities they need to achieve their potential.
The school caters for pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, ADHD, SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties and additional complex needs. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong understanding of SEND provision and a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and positive outcomes for pupils. Previous leadership experience within an SEN setting would be highly desirable for this role.
Job Role :- Providing strategic and operational leadership across the SEN School in High Wycombe
- Working closely with the Executive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to deliver school improvement priorities
- Leading and developing staff to ensure high standards of teaching, learning and professional practice
- Ensuring high-quality provision for pupils with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SLCN, SEMH and complex needs
- Supporting curriculum development and ensuring an ambitious, inclusive and personalised curriculum
- Developing effective relationships with pupils, parents, carers, Local Authorities and external agencies
- Supporting staff performance management, professional development and continuous improvement
- Contributing to school self-evaluation, development planning and quality assurance
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience of leadership and management within a school or educational setting
- Demonstrable experience of leading school improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- Experience of managing, developing and supporting staff
- Experience of monitoring attendance, behaviour and pupil outcomes
