Job DescriptionWorking under the mentorship of the Head of Support, you will apply engineering judgement to ensure supportability of our products, develop support solutions, and acquire necessary resources.
The focus is to shape design for support and develop support solution architecture.
Responsibilities- In coordination with ILS Project Lead, tailor scope and scale of ILS activities to meet user and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with designers to improve reliability, maintainability and usability of designs.
- Provide input to develop optimal support solutions within product roadmap.
- Complete life‑cycle cost, level of repair, sparing, and failure‑mode analyses.
- Elicit and derive support requirements, propose verification methods.
- Develop supportability cases and conduct evidence analyses to assure support solutions.
- Perform reliability modelling and maintainability analysis to optimise support arrangements.
- Assess human element of systems, evaluating potential human error contributions.
- Prepare or provide input to technical manuals such as troubleshooting guides or O&M manuals.
- Assist in hazard mitigation via system hazard analysis.
- Formulate and implement obsolescence strategy for product lines.
- Support continuous improvement of processes, policies and procedures.
Typical qualification:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field and experience in a complex engineering environment.
Must be eligible to obtain full UK Government Security Clearance and may maintain or obtain security clearance.
Relocation SupportFinancial support may be offered for relocation across the UK, subject to HMRC guidelines.
