Our client, an innovator in the design and manufacture of ventilation and air-movement products, is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to join their team.
The position is full time, permanent.
Salary:
Up to £50,000.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead and develop a multi disciplined team through R&D, design and production engineering.
* Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, structure and accountability.
* Lead engineering projects with clear strategic direction and effective resource planning.
* Ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
* Monitor team performance and support professional development.
* Oversee recruitment, training, and succession planning for the engineering team.
Product Design & Development
* Manage the full product life cycle from concept and prototyping to testing, certification, and manufacturing handover.
* Ensure products comply with ventilation, energy efficiency, and safety standards.
* Collaborate with product management to translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions.
Technical & Regulatory Oversight
* Ensure designs comply with relevant industry regulations, building regulations and standards, and environmental and sustainability directives.
* Oversee product testing, validation, and certification.
* Manage relationships with external suppliers, service providers, testing labs, and certification bodies.
Requirements
* Degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
* 6+ years’ engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
* Understanding of relevant manufacturing standards and regulations.
* Experience with CAD - Solid Works.
* Strong project management experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
* Background in ventilation, HVAC, air handling, or related electromechanical systems.
* Experience with CFD analysis, noise reduction techniques, or thermal performance modelling.
