Job SummaryThe Finance Manager leads and coordinates the organisation’s financial activities to ensure robust financial performance, accurate reporting, and effective strategic decision‑making. The role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, and the production of timely management accounts, while ensuring compliance with statutory and internal control requirements.
Working closely with senior leadership, the Finance Manager provides financial insight to support business planning and decision‑making. The role also involves supervising and developing the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high‑quality financial delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts in partnership with budget holders.
- Deliver clear, insightful analysis of overheads, gross margins, and performance trends, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Oversee the timely production of monthly management accounts and financial reports with meaningful commentary.
- Coordinate the statutory audit, including preparation of audit schedules and resolution of queries.
- Develop investment appraisals and financial models to support strategic decision‑making.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain robust financial controls, standard operating procedures, and segregation of duties, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting quality.
- Support long‑term financial planning and strategic initiatives.
- Lead, manage, and develop the finance team, fostering accountability and professional growth.
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a comparable senior finance role.
- Strong track record of delivering month‑end close, management reporting, and budgeting to tight deadlines.
- High proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills within a fast‑paced finance environment.
- Ability to build effective relationships and clearly communicate complex financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrable people‑management experience with a supportive, coaching approach.
- High attention to detail, with a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Strong numerical and analytical capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above in Mathematics and English.
- Experience using SAP or other enterprise‑level ERP systems.
