Responsibilities include:
Act as a business partner to non-finance stakeholders, providing weekly performance results and discussing operational impacts and cost-saving initiatives. Oversee and maintain the Nominal Ledger, Fixed Asset Register, and Cash Flow. Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to complete weekly and monthly financial reports. Prepare and post journals (including accruals and prepayments) to ensure a timely month-end close. Analyse monthly performance against prior periods, budgets, and forecasts to identify trends and variances.
Enhance balance sheet transparency and control through full monthly reconciliations and prompt resolution of discrepancies. Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including balance sheet and cash flow components. Assist with both external and internal audit processes. Prepare quarterly VAT returns and reconcile VAT/Corporation Tax accounts. Provide ad hoc reports and analysis to assist senior management in decision-making. What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will hold an AAT qualification or be part-qualified CIMA/ACCA (or have equivalent experience), and possess strong analytical and numerical skills.
Experience in supply chain or logistics is desirable, as is familiarity with foreign currency transactions and purchase/sales tax. Advanced Excel skills are essential, with knowledge of Sage being an advantage. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
