Disability Support Worker - High Wycombe

We are currently seeking a caring, dedicated Support Worker to provide support to a child living with Cerebral Palsy
. A typical day may include:
- Facilitating access to local community activities
- Bringing fun and laughter to people's lives
- Supporting clients to develop new hobbies and interests
- Assisting with daily living tasks
- Providing personal care
- Administering medication
- Supporting clients to develop new skills
- Supporting clients to explore or attend employment
- Assisting with grocery shopping and meal preparation
- Working alongside medical professionals and allied health professionals to ensure positive outcomes
- Transporting and accompanying clients to appointments
Important:
Manual Handling / Lifting Requirement – This role involves supporting a child with Cerebral Palsy and may include manual handling tasks such as lifting/transfers and repositioning. You must be confident and physically capable of performing safe manual handling and following care plans and training to ensure participant safety and your own wellbeing.

This job is for you if you:
- Are a great communicator who likes to have fun!
- Have prior experience supporting children with a range of needs relating to disability – especially with Cerebral Palsy & other Neurological Conditions
, trauma-informed care, behaviour support, intellectual disability, psychosocial disability, seizure management and PTSD. - Understand the difference between doing something FOR someone and enabling them to do it themselves.
- Are flexible in doing long shifts and have great availability.
Desired qualifications and requirements:
- NDIS Screening Check
- Working with Children’s Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (if you don't have this already you may do so after applying)
- Manual Handling Training Certificate
- Medication Administration Training
- First Aid Certificate and CPR
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Access to a reliable and fully insured vehicle
- Certificate III in Individual Care, Aged Care, Community Services, Disability or equivalent experience is highly desirable but not essential
- Full week availability will be preferred but not essential
Note:
Minimum 3 months validity for all above certifications is preferred.
The purpose of the position is to support individuals living with disability with daily personal activities in their homes and in the community, promoting independence and wellbeing.
