Technical Product Manager (PURELAB Market)

Office-based in Lane End, High Wycombe

Permanent, Full-time, Monday - Friday 37 hours

We are a leading, well‑respected water technologies company that values structured progression opportunities and flexible benefits. As Technical Product Manager for the PURELAB range (scientific market), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our portfolio.

You will interpret technical product requirements into clear specifications, collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle, support technical release processes, and ensure the range performs to the highest standards. You will also take ownership of technical documentation, ensuring it supports sales, service, and training throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities Technical Ownership and Development
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, R&D, and E&I teams to drive new product development and make informed technical trade‑offs and decisions.
  • Ensure products meet required technical standards, performance expectations, and relevant security protocols.
  • Interpret technical requirements and translate them into high‑quality technical specifications for new and existing products.
  • Take technical ownership of the PURELAB product range, including resolving quality issues and supporting technical application enquiries.
  • Monitor and optimise technical aspects of the product lifecycle, including development, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades.
Technical Documentation and Training
  • Support the creation of operator manuals, technical documentation, and technical training materials.
  • Deliver selected areas of technical training to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain, document, and share product knowledge across the organisation.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
  • Act as the bridge between technical and business stakeholders to align goals, expectations, and technical decisions.
  • Work closely with Product Manager (PURELAB), Marketing, Technical Support, and Engineering to ensure the product’s technical direction supports business needs.
  • Gather and analyse technical feedback from customers and internal teams to inform product improvements and prioritisation.
Customer Engagement and Market Support
  • Engage directly with customers to understand technical requirements and provide application‑based support.
  • Participate in beta testing phases, providing on‑site technical input and gathering real‑world performance insights.
  • Build strong partnerships with customers, distributors, and external networks to support product success.
Travel
  • Some global solo travel is required for customer visits, beta testing, technical investigations, and quality‑related activities.
Qualifications General Requirements Essential
  • A degree or equivalent in a science or engineering discipline.
  • Strong technical background with experience in a technical field (>5 years).
  • Ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Logical, structured approach to decision‑making.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
Desirable
  • Experience as a Technical Product Manager.
  • Ability to coach and mentor other product/technical product managers.
  • Visionary thinking with the ability to anticipate future customer and technical needs.
