On the fringe of London, the District is experiencing significant development pressure, with a variety of planning applications. The District has an excellent built and natural environment, many Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings and major areas of Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We promote the highest standards of design through negotiation and pro‑active work.

An enthusiastic candidate with environmental awareness and an interest in planning is now required to fill a vacancy within the Development Management team. The role may include a combination of handling of pre‑application enquiries, planning applications, enforcement cases, appeals and project work. Dealing with a varied caseload you will have the potential to develop your career and make an important positive contribution to the local area.

• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability and initiative to handle a diverse and competing workload and work to tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and management skills, and the ability to liaise and negotiate with the public, external agents, organisations, Council Members and other Council departments.

You must possess a clean driving licence and have daily access to personal transport.
