Our client a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join its production and build team. This is a practical, hands-on position focused on the assembly, installation, and testing of complex industrial equipment and mechanical systems.
The successful candidate will have strong mechanical fitting experience, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a proactive approach to fault-finding and continuous improvement within a high-quality manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Mechanical assembly of complex industrial equipment, including frames, modules, sub-assemblies, and associated components.
* Installation, fitting, and alignment of mechanical parts such as motors, drives, pumps, valves, pipework, and fixtures.
* Supporting system testing activities to ensure equipment operates correctly and meets build requirements.
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical build instructions.
* Carrying out mechanical fault diagnosis and repair during assembly, testing, and commissioning stages.
* Working closely with electrical, controls, and engineering teams to support full system integration.
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with quality standards, health & safety requirements, and customer specifications.
* Completing build documentation, inspection records, and quality checklists accurately.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing and assembly processes.
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in a mechanical fitting, assembly, or manufacturing engineering role.
* Background in building complex machinery, industrial systems, or capital equipment.
* Strong ability to work from engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
* Demonstrated fault-finding and problem-solving skills in a production or build environment.
* Understanding of precision assembly, alignment, and mechanical integration techniques.
* Competent using hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment.
* Good awareness of health & safety practices in an engineering or manufacturing setting.
* Holiday Pay on top of hourly Rate
