This market leading business are seeking a high‑performing, self‑driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across the UK market. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast‑paced commercial environment, is highly motivated, confident, and proactive, and brings a proven ability to open doors, build strong relationships, and convert opportunities into revenue.
You will act as a key ambassador for the business—engaging influential stakeholders, expanding our market presence, and consistently driving toward ambitious targets. This is a role for someone with exceptional interpersonal skills, natural commercial instinct, and an unwavering determination to succeed.
Key Responsibilities Market Insight & Opportunity Identification- Conduct market and customer research to identify emerging opportunities and shape effective territory/account plans.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to maintain up‑to‑date market intelligence.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and develop new business prospects.
- Generate leads across all BD channels, including outbound outreach, referrals, targeted campaigns, industry events, and networking.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders including C‑Suite decision‑makers.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to maximise brand visibility.
- Facilitate commercial discussions, develop high‑quality proposals, and deliver compelling presentations.
- Develop and execute strategies that drive revenue, market expansion, and account growth.
- Identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Negotiate and close commercial agreements that meet both client needs and company profitability goals.
- Lead client discovery sessions to understand requirements and articulate how company solutions meet their needs.
- Work closely with internal teams and subject matter experts to craft tailored, high‑impact proposals.
- Use data‑driven insights to refine strategies and improve commercial outcomes.
- Track performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Demonstrable success in a proactive business development or new‑business sales role both on the phone and face to face.
- Strong understanding of the industry landscape, client challenges, and competitive environment.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Highly personable, confident, and comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and problem‑solving ability.
- Self‑motivated with a results‑driven, resilient, “go‑getter” mindset.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience using CRM systems and managing structured pipelines (preferred)
