HGVDriver Apprentice About the Role A Brief Summary
Gravity Media is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Rigger / Driver Trainee
. This is an exciting opportunity to start a career in a niche industry, working on high-profile projects and learning from experienced professionals. As a Rigger / Driver at Gravity Media, you will play a critical role in the delivery of our Outside Broadcasting vehicles across the UK and occasionally abroad and assist with rigging and cable operations on-site.
As part of this apprenticeship, you will work closely with our experienced HGV Drivers in order to learn and understand the role of Drivers and Riggers within the outdoor broadcast industry, while undertaking the required training to obtain the relevant license classifications required for driving class C+E vehicles.
Hours of work will be variable, but on an average of 40 hours per week. There will be a combination of long and short days across 240 working days per year with overtime for working shifts over 10 hours in length.
What You’ll Be Responsible ForMost of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
- Understand and demonstrate the importance of Health and Safety in the workplace
- Comply with organisational safety, policies and procedures. Safe, controlled and fuel-efficient driving techniques relating to driving.
- Safe use of equipment and machinery e.g. manual handling equipment, vehicle and delivery systems, including where to find relevant instructions
- Guidance on vehicle preparation, including vehicle safety checks/inspections, defect reporting, safety requirements, loading, securing and unloading processes
- How to protect the vehicle and associated loads, including management of unlawful access to vehicle and loads
- Basic IT applications and other relevant technology and systems e.g. tachographs, adaptive braking, hand held scanners, on board telematics etc.
